Man he sucked. England looks pretty darn weak.

England World Cup Blog, "England are far more shite than I could have imagined."

Why are you always banging on about England??

Yes, England were rubbish last night.

And Crouch was as usual, pretty rubbish.

End of thread.

Because prior to the WC there was plenty of rhetoric about England's talent and strength.

Not to say they have played terribly, but they certainly don't match well against others.

Perhaps, like Brazil, they have a penchant for improving over the course of the tourney.

I do find it amusing that Crouch played so terribly all game, then had to cheat to get his goal. After England's assurance that they "don't play that way", then to see the foot squarely in mouth... well, the irony shines brightly.

Namaste.

Didn't see the game, but Im look at the photo. Doesnt look outrageous to me. You'll notice the other guy's elbow is jabbing up into a rather sensitive area of the body. If you were up in the air and moving towards him, it would be a natural instinct to place your hands on his body to steady the impact as you collided. Doesnt really look like he purposely used to the guy to climb extra height. This is all happening in a split second remember. I don't think that is cheating.

England initially moved the ball adequately, but they really aren't the world beaters their fans and press would have you believe. Look at the two teams they've played so far (who did well to stifle them), and look at who they've yet to play.

If England played Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy tomorrow, they'd be blown out of the water.

Perhaps if they'd rub off that lone star above the crest, they'd feel much better about their own mediocrity. As though winning one cup 40 years ago qualifies you as a soccer power! Uruguay won a World Cup, but where are they now? The past is past. Deal with your medium talent and be thankful you've got your 6 points.

Let's see how you match up against Sweden, who are playing much better than I've ever seen them play.

You look at the two teams we have played.
Both were extremely negative against us. We struggle against teams who are playing for a 0-0. Against better teams we do well against because we can open them up.
At the end of the day, it's the result that counts.
Bring on the knockout stages I say.
As to the comment of 'medium talent'. We have one of the most skillfull teams in the world, it's just we have a swedish tart in charge of them.

Incidentally, how did Crouch cheat. Not one Trinidad player complained.
It just happens that he's taller than every other player so pictures will look like he's climbing all over them.

I think it is the alleged girly hairpull that is the issue here rather than hands on the shoulders...

He didn't complain to the ref at the time.I suspect he's just a sore loser. Tell him to get a haircut too.

England lacked fire but there's not doubt they have the skills. How many shots on goal did they have by the end of the game? At least 18 including the 2 that went in, so they clearly dominated, even though it was highly frustrating to watch so many slip-ups.

Crouch, Lampard, and Gerrard can and will do better than that. A question mark hangs over Owen. He's not his usual fast self. Beckham on the other hand is playing better - working harder - than I've ever seen him play.

Doubtful. In 1982, Italy played abysmally in the group stage, drawing all three games. They went on to win. I don't think England have the quality, or management to win, but they have the talent to go far. The problem is that Eriksson is tactically conservative and afraid to leave out players who are there simply on reputation (Owen, Beckham).

England do have some genuine world class players. It is the managers job to make sure they play well together.

What class.

With fans like that, it seems no wonder why England inspires such rabid denunciation.

England has - several times - publicized that they do not opt for cheap fouls to score or open chances. But when confronted of blatant evidence of Crouch with a veritable handful of dreads, fans would rather project blame than accept responsibility. What a wonderfully ethical attitude.

Namaste.

Why would he want to leave Beckham out? He`s playing excellently.

Now Ive seen the goal, Im even more convinced it was not a foul. That contact happened on the way down AFTER he had headed the ball.

Im liking England more and more. There is a certain aura about this team. They have not played as well as they can yet, but I think they will. I also dont think they are the most skilled team in the tournament, but thats not what its about. Its about do or die on the day. And this team seems to have the mix of personality and character to put it all together on the big occasions.

Could this be thier year? Could we finally have to revise the old chant?

TWO WORLD WARS AND TWO WORLD CUPS, DO DA, DO DA!!!

Safe son! Let`s `ave yer then!!!
