I got mine at technomart. (7th floor , in the middle..small stall)......she had to run elsewhere but I got it. VGA pins to yellow RCA and S plug combination (not like in the pic).
Still, can't get anything on my tele. I think I will try another tv, nothing works and there are very few things to really tinker with in terms of my laptop. Might be the TV settings and I will get the girlfriend to help me out.....but I'm about to give up!!!

| Not sure if this is useful info or not, but have you tried the "외부입력" button on your TV remote control(if it exists)? |

Denver,
I do have that and yes, it gives me a/v 1 and a/v 2 . So I plug in my laptop, keep changing the settings etc....nothing. I hit FN F5 and do get a flicker of a line across the tv screen. Next time I hit it, the flicker is higher up and so on.....
Tried updating drivers, drivers are fine and compatible....don't know what to do. Everything should work.....Guess I will have to buy another TV???? Nice oldish Samsung model I got , probably 3/4 years old........but won't connect with my tv.
So as one novelist said, "I am turning off the machine..."

@ddeubel
I don't think changing the TV will solve your problem unless of course you buy a TV that has a VGA port (ie. LCD/PDP). TV's are essentially as dumb as a toaster. All of the settings to make it work will be done on your laptop (except changing the input/channel on the TV). From what you've described I'm still inclined to blame the problem on Color depth/Resolution of the second monitor. In order for the video card to utilize the TV you're going to have to set the resolution low (ie. 640x480) and the color depth to it's lowest setting (ie. 16 bit). If you've already done that then I'm at a loss.

I'm bumping this up because I'm trying to do the same thing.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 that does not have a 1394 port. Anyone have any idea how I can do this??? |

Why do you need a 1394 port? (for the uninitiated, that's an IEEE or Firewire port used for printers, scanners, and digital cameras).
From what I know, your notebook has VGA and S-Video outputs.
Easy peasy, just get an S-video cable and configure it on your desktop display properties (right click your desktop to get the display configuration window).
ddeubel, have you tried booting up the notebook with the cables connected to the TV and see if anything appears on the screen. If it does, then its working. All you have to do is fix the secondary display properties in Windows. If it doesn't, try getting into your bios to enable video out via S-video. |
