Early in the Serbia game they are showing the passing skill of the Spanish and the shot-taking skill of the Brazilians.
Argentina is a final four team.
They've got it all together.
No other team can claim that (except maybe the Czechs and those pretenders called Mexicans). |

I agree, so far, Argentina and Ecuador have shown the most promise this far follwed closely by germany and netherlands.
Early in though Argentina looks like the team to beat. |

Really? I was more impressed with Spain, Czech Republic and Mexico. We'll see...

Can't imagine them not making it to the final eight, most likely final four. |

| Argentina and Spain are kicking some serious ass thus far. Tough teams, no doubt... |

Ecuador have been impressive, but let's not forget that they have beaten Poland and Costa Rica, two weak teams. I think they will come up short against tougher opposition, and I would still expect England to beat them. |

Exactly. Though England has looked weak. Not so sure who'd win that one.
I still am amazed at how many chances a half-motivated Brazilian gets simply by taking bullet long shots from outside the box. They can be a threat from any angle and at a distance. I still won't bet against them, though if they met Argentina or Spain I certainly wouldn't bet for them either.
France and Italy are way under the radar so far and could get bounced before the round of eight. England and Germany too. Or turn around and go far.
(glad it's friday as my sleep is shot again, should've taken a couple of months off as planned, but noooo, had to jump at an attractive new job offer and find myself struggling to maintain a regular schedule this week. the tape recorder has helped, but still...) |

Where does Argentina rank with you now?
Me:
Bet on any of them to make it to the Final 4:
1. Argentina
2. Spain
3. Czech Republic
4. Brazil
Bet on the final 8:
5. Italy
6. Mexico
7. England
8. Ecuador
Maybe worth it but only if the odds were good:
9. Netherlands
10. Germany
11. Portugal
12. Korea |

Argentina may well be playing the best football so far, but that may work against them... they may be peaking too early. Brazil has a tradition of improving each match... I'm not sure Argentina will be able to maintain... however, I certainly think they'll make the final 4.
Namaste. |

Too early to say, many teams have only played one match, the next five or six days will tell the story.
Hving said that Argentina has looked very impresive, Ecuador has been the suprise but they know how to play the game.
Germany has looked good in their two wins and home advantage will likely give them another boost.
mexico, spain, netherlands and the czechs have also looked good
Final four HMMM....
Argentina
Netherlands
Czechs
Brazil |

If past tournament history's any indication, sides that peaked spectacularly well early in the group stages never got too far. It was always the late bloomers that won it all (albeit with a bit of luck in the group stages). Which is my way of saying: "Football-is-coming-home-to-Ing-er-lund".
