I have to wear slippers, or am supposed to. I found them too casual, loosy goosy, so use a pair of brand new shoes only in the workplace. I'm wondering whether to go back to the slippers after accidentally stepping on the toes of a student.

What do you wear in the classroom ?

At my last job, for three years, I got to wear my outside shoes, and so did the students, which made for messy floors at the end of a day.

I'm of two minds about it all.

I don't clean the floors at this job but darn did my shoes help me with my teaching personna. It's a feeling thing.

I wear sandals at work but they are my sandals not comunal ones that seems to be the norm.

I never wear a suit or a tie for that matter to my public school. Having said that alot of my collegues dress up, male or female and I think it is so comical to see them wearing those 1000 won checkered sandals along with a nice suit or dress. Makes me chuckle inside every time I see them.

I wear either dress shoes or dressy looking sneakers in the winter. Now that the weather is getting hotter I am usually sporting these Crocs :

Slippers. I bought my own and they are made entirely of cotton. The slippers that are commonly use have a lot of plastic in them and that makes for hot and sweaty feet which soon turns to stinky feet. I need a new pair, but am being stubborn since I don't want to buy a pair for just a month and a half's worth of use.

I wear sandals during the summer but usually slip into sneakers for class. I think the students would be freaked out by my toes. The chest hair already throws them.

What freaks me out are the Korean teachers who wear, say, a suit and then wear socks with those black rubber sandals with the little white stripes.

I swear most men don't get the idea of open toed footwear.

Van, goodness, I hope not! Neither of us is sure on having kids. We are more of the "Let's do everything possible to prevent it, but if it happens, that'll be great, too."

Barefoot, though, heck yeah. And considering how hot it gets where he lives, likely without very much clothing for much of the time as well.

A pair of sneakers as hard floors play hell with my bum knee so I like the extra padding.

Though I have worn sandals before and having to explain what jungle rot was turned out pretty easy.

I wear socks with my sandals to spare everyone the view of my ugly toes. Here, it's the norm.

When I go back, I fully intend to continue wearing socks with my sandals. The best thing about finally hitting your thirties is that you no longer worry about what is "fashionable" and what isn't. The pressure to be part of the "in-crowd" is obsolete and you stop trying to be and look like everyone else. You get to do your own thing.

i've got wide feet (double e's) so i can't wear those plastic slippers comfortably, so i wear the birks i brought with me. not great for hard surfaces, but what're you gonna do?

We have a shoes on policy at the hogwan, so I wear runners most days.
