Hello everyone,
I am looking to do a templestay for a few days in July. I have a few websites, but I am interested in any personal experiences people have had. I meditate, but not regularly so I don't want anything that is too intense. I do need a temple that has english translation as well.
Any recommendations? numbers? websites?
Thanks for any help! |

I've heard that the templestay is more of a touristy thing. If you're looking for more of a thing where you show up, get your robes, and get right into it, then I'd consider looking at http://www.seoulzen.org/
They operate out of a temple near Daejeon. I'm not 100% positive if you can just go for a weekend, though. Most people go for 1 week-3 months. I know of a girl who went up to a place like that for a month and came back like a new person. You can also PM Captain Kirk who went and stayed at the Daejeon temple for 3 months and says it was the best experience of his life. It's on my list of things to do, as well.
Last year, I was into some Indian meditation and was part of an Osho active meditation group in Seoul. It's since been canceled as the coordinator went back to India, but I'm planning on organizing something again. Usually early morning meditation and weekend retreats, etc.. |
