I seem to always come up short when it comes to buying a gift for my wife. Even when I know it is something she's been wanting, I'll invariably choose the wrong color, size or style. We always have a fun time exchanging it for the right item, and it is something of a long standing joke between us. However, with our anniversary just around the corner, I'd like to get her something that won't need to be exchanged. In short, I'm looking for a foolproof gift for her. She doesn't really care for jewelry, cosmetics, flowers or candy; can anyone suggest a really good foolproof gift? She is Korean.
Serious replies only, please.

If you were married, you'd know that a gift certificate just won't cut it. All your money is already hers (and her money is hers, of course).

I'm going with Wangja on this one. Gold...and a nice dinner.

Hey I'm married and that would most definately be a wonderful gift! I'd increase it to 200,000 though. She gets to chose what she wants and it's only for her; no one else Very Happy Besides the OP said she doesn't like jewelry, so the gold's out.

Clean the house, do the laundry, do the grocery shopping, cook her dinner and give her a two hour massage.

Sure, 200 000 won might do the trick, but he was suggesting 100 000 won.

how about giving her your love and showing it everyday. No spouse could ever ask for more. Rather than partaking in the extra drinking session or the extra whatever....spend it with her...

To go with the cake and champagne, you could also give your wife some home-made gift certificates. One of my friends gave some to her husband a while back, along with his other gifts, and he enjoyed it.

You can create your own certificates, redeemable at any time, for such things as back rubs, dinner out for no special reason, breakfast in bed, a spontaneous weekend trip out of town, a VIP room in a local hotel for a night, etc. Just use your imagination, as you know your partner the best.

Corny much? Maybe a little, but could be a nice little addition.

My husband gave me a love bank for Christmas one year. Inside the box were color-coordinated envelopes. Each color represented a type of love:
gifts, time, service, romance, dates, etc. Then he wrote out notes in each one that met that particular love language. I got to open one every week, choosing what kind of love I needed at the time. It was really romantic and special--I think he got the idea from the book, "The 5 Languages of Love."

Gold schmold. I find it tacky and inflated in importance in price.
That love-bank sounds like it was a delight to receive and a good investment for him. The gift that keeps on giving...

Telling her that you've been sleeping with your secretary, while a hired band plays in the background, along with strippers ought to do the trick.

That was a serious reply.

Wow! A korean gal who doesn't like jewelry, flowers, candy, cosmetics??? That's odd...for ANY woman. I guess a day at the spa is out of the question then.
