Then did you really need to bring them up again?
I don't think you really know what you're talking about, do you? |

I`m England till I die.
It`s people like you HT that make hooligans want to kick people in the head.

So you don't care about winning? The only thing you care about seems to be whining.
Do you have to use the word 'paradigms' in every post? |
No, I don't place a premium on winning. Whining would be more akin to, "Woe is me." Instead, I'm pointing out objective flaws that have been discussed at length elsewhere.
Funny that even with the redundant reference to paradigms, you still haven't internalized the issue.

Ahh, the joys of ad hominem. Always helpful when your position has a shaky basis, eh?

Elsewhere != here.
I don't need to rely on ad hominem to support my positions, but of course I am the one who doesn't know what I'm talking about.

| I like the way you bring up the same phrases over and over again. Kinda funny |

Not that I can recall, but then why bother trying to satisfy ad hominem?

And yet you still don't get them. Kinda funny.

So in relation to your original post, you're not English, yet you have nothing better to bang on about than them being apparently rubbish.
You won't even declare your nationality, as you know that there will be holes picked in any of your nations footballers. |

Another logical fallacy - criticism of X != support of Y.

I think Hermes is quite funny myself.
Anyway, my recollection of recent big tournaments leads me to the conclusion that form, playing well, really doesn't matter. I've said this already elsewhere, but Portugal in Euro 2004 played abysmally in the group stages. Deco (playmaker) was pathetic - could never, ever find a team mate with a pass - and their main striker (Pauletta) was utter *beep*. They got to the fooking final! They were nothing special in the knockouts either! Another example - Jose Mourinho's Porto side of 2004. They won the Champions League. They are the worst side I've ever seen win that competition. They were scrappy, incredibly lucky and played mediocre finalists.
Doesn't matter about form. We're through to the knockouts and we'll improve. England raise their game, pass well and generally outplay big sides (except Brazil in 2002). We've played Paraguay and T&T. We played *beep* and won. If you play *beep* and win, that's good.
This thread is a nonsense. I don't think Crouch cheated, but even if he did, cheating is justified because if you don't dive, foul and try to fool the referee, you're barmy, because everyone else does. England cheat just like everyone else, but in England there is a very naive view that persists that sportsmen should be moral bastions. It's total rot. |

Moral, no. Ethical, yes.
If a million and one people behave unethically, it does not justify unethical behavior. Ethics do not rely on majority subscription.

| As I said before, Ive seen that goal twice now and he did not cheat. He did not restrain or climb on the guy. That contact happened AFTER he had headed the ball. He was instinctively steadying himself for the impact, thats all. It was a fine and fair goal. Now SHUT UP... |

Ahh, all bow to the infallible objectivity of Satori...
Hand of the Geek - the Video PROOF.
Yup, he was steadying himself by pulling locks of dreads and jerking the defenders head.
So, if after watching that you still think the goal was fair, then you obviously have quite the novel perception of realities.
