I'm tempted to agree, but they are signifcant intellectual movements nonetheless, and they do offer new tools for textual analysis... |

I love France and have met so many lovely French people. They have their quirks and a certain arrogance but they have made a great contribution to art, literature, philosophy, science, engineering, gastronomie etc.
I always feel cheerful immediately when stepping off a channel ferry into France or emerging on the south side of the 'chunnel'. I can't explain why, the country has a feel-good factor for visitors anyway, just a certain 'je ne sais quoi'.
There are things I don't like in France (treatment of animals, squat toilets, their treatment of some ethnic minorities) but that goes for anywhere, no country is perfect.
The British tabloid press always tries to stir the old hostilities, but this Brit hopes France will win tonight. Go Euro neighbours, go..... |

I agree...But, at times, Foucault just comes off as being overly concerned with justifying his own homosexuality. |
