Has anyone had experience coming here on a six month contract? I would like to avoid the hassles of breaking a second contract now that I see how painful that can be!

Was amazing to see how my contract clauses could be used against me, even with 3 months notice give!!!! But then that's another story...

Yes, so any hopeful stories, advice or job leads (I'm free from end of August until the end of March) would be much appreciated.

Thanks Everyone!!!!

DO NOT sign a 6 mo. contract. Under KR law you would be considered a temporary employee without any benefits. Only 12 month employees are eligible for benefits.

I signed a 6 month contract but then my visa's a bit different than most on the board. I think for most people a 6 month contract is illegal!?!

Thank you for the advice. I have found one school interested in setting me up with a 6 month visa. I will look into the logicistics a bit more, but this place offered me, housing allowance, and half severeance bonus, 5 working days off etc... I agreed to pay for my flight back and, in exchange for the above which all sounds good to me. Just wondering why something like that would be considered illegal.

Yo!Chingo, what kind of Visa do you have... I am also thinking of getting a one year working holiday visa instead of an E2. I like the idea of being a free agent for a year!

I'm over here on a spousal visa which is an F-3. My husband works for the private sector here.
