As an American, I find myself trying to get into this crap known as the World Cup.

But it is complete crap. You get a bunch of grown men running around in short pants. If someone even nudges them, they fall to the grass and start rolling around in feigned pain.

Then the stretcher comes and lifts them off the field. As soon as the stretcher gets to the sideline, the guy jumps right off and heads back to the game. What kind of crap is that?

Then you have the refs. Talk about an overly officiated game. If you pass wind, it's a yellow card. Looking cross-eyed at someone will get you a red, thereby an ejection.

Just watched the Italy-USA matchup. Three men ejected. I only saw one who truly deserved getting tossed.

It ended in a one one tie. Ooohhhhh! That's exciting.

Soccer is complete crap. I can't wait till real football season gets here. If I have to see another grown man faking an injury, I think I'll toss my cookies. If an American football player did that, we'd toss bottles at him.

I'm no fan of soccer either but am also trying to get into it. I agree that it seems to be generally boring and acting seems to be very important. Hopefully it will get better after the next round starts when the better teams play each other. But how could you possibly get up to watch a 4AM game if you aren't a rabid fan? Or are you in North America?

I'm in America. The first game starts usually at 9 am. There are three games a day. It finishes about 4 pm.

BTW, cheers. You seem like a nice polite boy.

Oh so close, but not quite. Americans don't say "short pants". They say "shorts". Better luck next time.

Yeah, you're right.

I'm not American. I actually live in Panama. Good job, Sherlock.

As an Australian, I find myself avoiding crap known as American Football.

Gym junkies running around with more padding/protection than a tampon factory, one may ask, what's up with that?

For a lesson in athletic endurance, strength, power and aggression, I suggest you 'submit' to the gentle art of rugby.

P.S Leave the padding in Ohio...

Ya rugby is okay but one of the greatest things in sports is catching a FORWARD pass in football. If you think it doesn't hurt when you get hit when wearing pads then strap them on and I'll kick you the ball.
