#1: France should have been up 2-0...Korea's goalie WAS IN THE NET when he blocked that shot...ball was over the line!
#2: Korea's goal, and yes it was a goal, was the sloppiest shot I've seen all World Cup.
France dominated the game (and Koreans know it). France wasn't even that tight a team, particularly after watchin the Brasilians.
best of luck to TaeHanMinGuk...france will be lookin for points against Togo, and the Swiss defense won't be very forgiving. Korea looked terrible tonight.... |

They know that too. That shot has been replayed over and over on the Korean news. So, I wasn't off with my prediction that the score would be 2:1.
Although it wasn't as blatant as with the game against Togo, I was disappointed that the Korean team kept on falling every chance they had. There's no honor in that.
I don't know if Korea is going to be as lucky against the Swiss team, which is in far better physical condition than the aging French team (unless it gets its act together, it will be going home early again). |

Anyone have a link for that "goal" that wasn't a goal?
Korea was very lucky this game again. They better not get overconfident.
If France and Korea both beat Togo by 2 goals then Korea would have to beat Switzerland to move on. I think the Swiss should be able to shut down Korea.
I think Korea's supply of luck has pretty well run out. It is about time for some bad luck and I think that will come against the Swiss.
If not, my hat is off to Korea. Win and you're in. |

Luck played a part...but so did France not capitalizing on numerous scoring chances...and the Korean goalie saving the draw vs Henry in the dying minutes.
France shot its bolt in the first half, ran out of gas and the fittest team was able to claw back in the game. Kudos to them for hanging tough.
The goal-no goal call was understandable...there is no video replay in Football so to rule a goal in the ref had to had indisputable evidence it was a goal. At the speed it happened and with the fact that no French player or coach complained on the spot...it is understandable the ref did not rule it a goal.
As for Koreas goal, it was far from shoddy...it was a great header in front of the goal where Park was placed and redirected the ball in with his foot...nothing wrong with that goal.
France blew several scoring chances, Korea hung in there and took it to France in the second half when the frenchmen ran out of gas....and Zidane was basically invisible....
draw.
This whole they were lucky crap is getting old.
Was Ghana lucky vs the Czeks? What about Japan vs Croatia (0-0), Trinidad and Tobago who also forced a draw vs a better team in their opener....wait..only Korea gets lucky...others just upset better teams...  |

The ref had whistled for a freekick just as the ball crossed the line, apparently. Hence why there was no corner, and no goal, and no complaining from the French.
I didn't notive this at the time, but a match report somewhere mentioned it. I would have to see the sequence again to check the validity. |

Actually, I thought the same, until I went back and read the BBC report:
Patrick Vieira also looked to have scored, but the referee failed to give the goal, penalising Florent Malouda as he tried to force in the rebound.
That reads to me as though the shot itelf was fine, and the attempt at a rebound was what gave the foul away. Maybe. |

Okay, that's maybe what I read, and I misinterpreted it. In which case, it was definitely a goal, but I wonder why not a single French player appealed for it. It was strange. |

What it's getting is deja vu-ish. Anyone else starting to get some serious 2002 flashbacks from this "could've, would've, should've" post-match commentary after each win by Korea, the Little Team That Shouldn't've? |
