I want to buy a video camera before I go home, but I know that korean and canadian televisions (or dvds and things like that) aren't compatible.
So, does anyone know if a video camera bought here will work on north american tvs?
Also, if I take the PS2 home (that was bought here), will the games from home work in it or not?
I know the movies we bought here won't work at home. ( at least I have been told they won't) |

the video camera will work.
I dont' know about your PS2 since I don't play games, but I think there is a chance that like DVDs it's region coded. |

| Get a mod-chip(I think 무선 칩 in Korean) for your PS2 before you leave and all NTSC(Kor/Jap/Can/US) games will work on it and your Cdn TV - although I don't watch many DVDs with mine, I believe all of those will work as well. Should cost you no more than 50,000won - at least that's what it cost me a few years ago. Get it done as it's worth the $50. |

| Where do you buy these mod chips, and who would i get to install it? I assume that the chip requires some soldering, something which I don't want to attempt. also, after the chip is in, will my Korean games that i bought not work any more? Thanks for your help. |

Depends where you live. I had mine done in Seo-myeon here in Boo-sahn. There are about six-ten shops that sell copies of almost any kind of game. I went to one of those places and they said no. I went to another and they said yes and I had to wait about 30 minutes while it was sent somewhere to be done. I've heard others say they went to Yong-san or whatever that place in Sul-ool is called. Go to computer or game shops and ask. They're the ones with Warcraft and Starcraft and whatever posters plastered all over the shop's windows. And, yes, you can do them yourself if you know what you're doing. I didn't, so I had someone else do it. And, yes, my Korean games work no problem...they're NTSC(for 60Hz TVs - same as NA) Kor. The games you should avoid are the PAL ones for a Korean or NA TV. The other thing you have to consider is that you'll have to buy a step-up transformer when you get to Canada so your 220V Korean Playstation will work in the 110/120V outlets in Canada. If you're ever in Boo-sahn, I'll actually bring you to the exact same shop where I had mine done as the guy is still open...Saturday is best. |

I'm waiting until I go home in August to get a new digital video camera. I don't see why you are buying in Korea (but there could be a reason) because the prices back home are just incredibly cheaper (I mean half price... especially given the exchange rate.).
