I was reading a while back (no source- I never bookmarked it) - Koreans now considered to be part of the poor/middle/upper class - you had to have savings/assets to this amount....
"poor-class" - less than $1 million (USA dollars)
"middle-class" more than $1 million (USA dollars) in savings
"upper-class" more than $3 million (USA dollars) in savings
I guess that far-outstrips my home country - where to be in the middlle class - one just has to have maybe ($250,000 USA dollars) and "upper-class" maybe more than $700,000 (USA dollars)....
I guess many of us teachers are ALL in the "poor-class" here in korea? |
