How do you act? Do you feel used?

?

If there is a valid reason for unemployement, maybe.
If he doesn't do his best to get another one, probably.

if it is your husband, try talking to him, i mean you did marry him for a reason?

It depends on the circumstances. Can you expand a little?

There are dirt bags (people that are unproductive) in all cultures. My sister's husband does have a job. A friend of mine has a husband from Turkey that doesn't have a job. Typically, I think most men have jobs if they are married. But, this is the new millenia, I don't blame some for being domestic. I can blame them for willfully being bums.

Does he help around the house? Do the cooking, cleaning, laundry etc? If not, and you are the sole earner, and have to do all the housework (or even the majority), then you need to reassess your situation.

You need to elaborate if you want real advice.

Its called equality. hello 21st century, men don't have to fit snuggly into those traditional hunter-gatherer roles any longer. Womens liberation freed-up men as well.

My husband runs a business and sales are cyclical.

When his cashflows are good, he lavishes me with lots of things - jewelry, good dinners out, business class flights to anywhere I want to go. He is never mean with me or our daughter.

I always tell him that when things don't go so well, I have no problem or hesitation to support him financially, as well as emotionally (I do already anyway as his wife).

I won't feel used because a marriage is about sharing good or bad times. It'll be wrong of me to be mean to him when he needs me, especially when he is always so generous to me.

I think you should shake your non-moneymaker.

And then should the men with stay-at-home wives do the same? What century are we in again? Very Happy

Why is this specified as to race and gender?

Very curious about that.

This decribes a wonderful human partnership relationship. You are lucky to be in one, and we are lucky to hear your excellent point of view about it.

The fact that no details were provided makes this seem like the OP is trolling.

I saw my post again (had forgotten about it), and I don't think I was trolling as much as trying to understand something at the time.

As I have mentioned previously, I am living in Korea and married to a Korean woman. No big problem there for me. I believe at the time I posed my vague question I was wondering about the role of the husband here and any culturally-specific things that may differ from that of a man in a western marriage. That's why I singled out Korean husbands.

And I also had a hair across my ass at the time of posting. Sorry. In retrospect, I should have just gone to sleep.

Sounds like she's not working cause she expects you to plant some seed and get on with married life.
