| Damn, this one is pretty lame, even by Korean standards. On one of the stations, they were blaming the loss on Koreas wearing their white uniforms and the Swiss being allowed to wear red. They stated that the Swiss had more advantage because their fans in the stadium were wearing red and that it somehow gave them magical powers!!! I guess that they also believed that the red devil shirts also siphoned off some of their mojo and gave it to the Swiss. Really, they'll do anything to try and blame someone or something else. Of course, ESL teachers know all about this type of behavior... |

What the heck was with the white? I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought I was watching a tennis match gone horribly bad.
Actually, I thot they looked rather cool. |

| Considering that the Korean team HAD white jerseys to wear, they must have known ahead of time that wearing white was a possibility. Amazing that the fans did not think to pack a white shirt, just in case. As it was, I imagine that they looked really silly wearing the color of the opposite team. I mean, jeesh, a white shirt....you can buy them anywhere and they won't break the bank. |

For some reason the typo in the paper made me kind of laugh.
As the Red Devils show, red unites people into one. National goalie Lee Woon-jae says, "When I see the color red in the stadium, it encourages me to do better. Supporters of Switzerland also wear red, and when Team Korea plays Switzerland, I�ll think of all the supporters there as our supporters and do my best to win the game.� Painters may agree that the power of the Taeguk Worriers comes from the magical power of red.

the CEO OF FIFA is SWISS!!
so he made sure the swiss got to wear RED to take away the powers from the red devils!! and all made sure that the SWISS got some help from the refs!!!
this is also what koreans are saying...
I kinda believe this too..
korea had there special help 2002 |

Agree 100% Rather ironic isn't it? However the Swiss didn't really need the help. They were in control of the game and the Koreans play a very ineffective game.
Perhaps it was some bad luck but oh well. These things happen. Korea needs to suck it up and take it like Spain did in 2002. With genuine class. |

It always seems to me biatching about bad calls costing you games is kind of silly. Bad calls sometimes help you win, sometimes they help you lose. No one ever complains about the bad calls that got them to the game in which the one bad call cost them the game... |

That's true enough. I remember in 2002 talking too my Korean co-workers the next morning following the games, but not only did they not talk about any of the bad calls, they were also oblivious that any questionable calls had even taken place. It is no wonder that Koreans in general were so shocked by some questionable calls in the last game because when they watch their own team play throughout the year the commentators do not talk about any questionable favors they receive. They do not seem to point out that any tackles look weak. They really never replay any questionable points in the game and after the opposing team scores a goal rarely do you get to see it again. A Korean player tuning in late, will almost believe they've tied or won every game for the past five years and have done so cleanly at that. |

DVDs yes. Music, certainly. cant agree abou the movies. Infact Korean cinema is quite good, one of the most creative cinemas in the world. if anyone copies movies, that would be the Americans who are snapping up film rights from all over the globe, including a few Korean flicks too. I like Korean movies as they push the envelope to a level American films wouldnt have the guts too. Im waiting for the American version of Old Boy. Im betting that they wont have the guts to make it as edgy as the Korean version. |
