I was channel-surfing today, and on MBC ESPN, what do I see?

A replay of the Togo vs. Korea game! The World Cup isn't even over yet!

Poor Togo. Their defeat is going to be replayed, again and again, for the next four years. Poor Togo. Sad

Yes poor Togo...this footage will hurt the people of Togo and the world over. You should call Amnesty International or the UN..a Peace Keeping mission is in order here.

They've also replayed the Swiss game twice today.

So there goes the theory that we'd never see it again.

There is method in their madness though. I am sure they want to show the "blown calls" over and over again. Korea didn't lose, they were robbed. What a bunch of crap. Rolling Eyes

Somehow I doubt Togo netizens or letter writers flooded FIFA with demands for a rematch as they obviously have a lot more maturity, class and ability to deal with reality. Ironically, they had a man sent off with a dubious call and may have beaten Korea if they were not a man short.

Pretty pathetic when you have to rebroadcast barely beating the world's 61st ranked team, a man short, almost without a coach, from a poor nation of less than 6 million people. Thank God for the Off button.

The red card in the Togo game was legitimate. The first yellow card against him, I don't know.
However I think Togo was the victim of some poor refereeing in the Switzerland game.
Togo threatened to boycott the last game though and payment issues have tarred their reputation in the football world. Korea never to be outdone is trying their hardest to tar their reputation worse. Too close to call Rolling Eyes

They showed the game with France too. I think I see a trend here..... but what is it?

Oh, I get it -- maybe they're showing the games that Korea was involved in during the 2006 World Cup.

Just a theory, mind you.....

And the reaming of Korea with a soccer angle on Dave's has taken off with their elimination from the World Cup ... be prepared to hear the re-hashing of the events in this Cup over and over again for the next four years .. Rolling Eyes

It's getting boring hearing people slagging off Korea. Could be bordering on racist from a lot of you.
I don't like that.

Oh shut up. People are so quick to slap the Racism label on everything. It is being discussed because it is a current event. Take your sensitive crapulent self and go hug a seal or something.
I have been using the Fifa.com website for awhile now and now it has been blocked by actions of Koreans. Can we not talk about it?

Lame. Rolling Eyes

Yeah I just tried to get thru too and it was blocked. WHAT a bunch of crybabies. "We sucked so nobody in Korea can use the FIFA site. If we can't win soccer doesn't exist."

With stuff like this happening let the slagfest continue I say. *beep* 'em.

Well, given that you begrudged them winning in 2002 in the same fashion, it would be intellectually consistent of you to sympathize with them on this occasion.

But I doubt that's going to happen.

Ok Pilgrim. I think that Korea had some bad luck that game. C'est la vie.
I think Korea had extraordinary good luck in 2002. (Too good I think)
C'est la vie, they didn't win it all anyway.

I will say this. Fifa has to be a little smarter. The Argentinian referee used to play in (or for, not sure) Switzerland and has a Swiss wife. That seems to be enough grounds to make sure he is not selected to referee that game. I am not saying he was crooked or biased but it does give ammunition to critics.

I think we will have to watch the Ukraine-Switzerland game to see if there is something funny going on (like in 2002).

I do try to be objective. However that second goal in all likelihood wouldn't have made a difference as Korea still needed to score 2 goals. That and the fact that it wasn't offside. Bad luck for Korea but I think they are making asses out of themselves over this. Be more like Spain. Go Spain! ^^
