Eating slippery noodles before a test will cause the knowledge to slip from your brain. Eating sticky rice will cause the information to stick.

- Applying something sticky (honey, for example) to the entrance gates of a school will ensure that your son or daughter will be accepted into said school.
- a new mother should eat seaweed soup (mee yuk gook) after delivery to cleanse her blood.
- students taking exams should not eat seaweed soup the day before or else they will forget what they memorized.

As I read these replies, including mine, I'm thinking are these urban myths or superstitions?
Is there a big difference?

It was done on here before so you can maybe search for it......

.......apparently, it's been known for Korean Mom's to give their exam-stressed teenage sons oral relief. Shocked The idea being that super-devoted Korean Mom's will always go the extra mile for their little princes.

Well, you asked for urban legends, didn't you!!

Hanging upside-down will "switch the blood" from the bottom and top halves of your body.

Getting stabbed in the back and having suction cups applied to the puncture wounds will remove "bad blood" from your body.

Is this why I see some Korean guys with round red marks on their backs sometimes?

How about Tan-gun? I suppose that's more of a national myth than it is an urban one, but it should still count.
