Shady money deals in S. Korea jump in 2005, report says
Reports of dubious financial transactions in South Korea nearly tripled last year from the previous year, a government agency said Tuesday. Domestic financial institutions made 13,459 reports of suspected money laundering in 2005, compared with 4,680 cases a year earlier, according to the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit (KoFIU).

And this has nothing to do with a crackdown and being stricter and watching things closer?

Wow, Koreans know how to do the best unbiased research I have ever seen.

Aside from the shot at RR Homer I think the real issue is that this is a culture of corruption. Land of the white envelope they say.
Korea could be so much better if they cleaned their act up. They have come a long way in such a short time. Imagine what they could do if all this was at least seriously addressed instead of half-heartedly.

The money laundering is all because of ESl teachers and our international ATM cards. Good thing we cant get them anymore.
