Fact is: KFA made a bad choice only keeping Advocaat for the World Cup. They should have asked him to stay on board longer.

The more likely fact is the only reason Advocaat was tempted to the Korean job was for the crack at the World Cup, especially having signed with and started working for the UAE just a month or so prior to being approached by Korea, and that he had no intention on staying in the job any longer than Korea remained in the tournament..

He was initially contracted until Korea's exit from the tournament, and though his contract did have an option to extend it until the 2007 Asian Cup finals, in reality he was never going to take that up.
