My friend has a blog about her experiences in and impressions of Toronto, as well as some odd stories about cultural differences.
I always get a kick out of it, and her Pride Parade pix are actually quite good:

Actually there were some interesting posts there. It's funny seeing a Korean finally realise "all those words really do mean wang!" Koreans are conditioned for too long with inaccurate subtitles that make some of our worst swears sound nice.
She didn't remark though that two of the words she listed, dong and wang, are both common in Korean. |

Thanks for that- I've often wondered about the Korean perspective in English-speaking cultures. |

Yeah. Where are all the posts about
"I hate this country. All the people are stupid and superstitious. They're ridiculously patriotic. I'm glad Canada lost the Stanley Cup."
Doesn't she know that's the sort of thing you're supposed to write when you're in a foreign country? |

It might be different it were a male writing the blog. Korean females tend to be more open minded than Korean males. |

Why should she complain? She writes:
"Yes, we are same human beings.
Watching people walking around the street is very fun too.
Why? There is totally no prejudice, judgement, fear, or discrimination."
It'd be nice to be able to write that in a Korean-themed blog. |

Ah those Asian markets in Toronto. If only Korea had them. Why can't there be a Koreatown in Korea.
Find me a green mango, a real green mango, not a ripe yellow one, but an unripe green one. Everyday.
Then find me a bag of Thai peppers that does not cost 25000won. Throw in some fresh lemon grass and some Thai rice. If Korea had this, without having to travel through space and time, I would be a happier man.

The most interesting part is the price. Everything is really cheaper than any other grocery stores.

I agree.
Ethnic food at home is always cheaper than 'regular' food. Here it is the opposite. |

Once I heard it, I easily could figure out it was a gingko tree.

Hey, that reminds me of this thread (Sperm trees). |

Canada doesn't play for the Stanley Cup... however, the team that won the Cup did have more Canadians than any other country. |
