Some time ago someone asked about tuna packed in water.

Direct from the tuna's mouth:

It's a blue can. Dongwon (동원 참치...물담금) brand, which seems to be the most common brand. If you spin the can around it says on the back side: Light Tuna in Water.

In return, I think you have to come over here and open my jar of pickle relish. I've tried running it under hot water and tapping the side of the lid. Nothing works. Grrrrrrrrr.

You can also get it in a packet (rather than a can). Can't think of the brand name off hand but it's a green package with a yellow band along the top. It sort of looks like a soup mix packet.

Try slapping the bottom of the jar...if banging the shit out of the lid hasn't worked yet.

or get something rubber..(dry it off) then grip rubber bands in each of your palms and try twisting the lid...works a lot better with those rubber pot holders sold in the states, but it's the same idea

Ya-ta boy... use your stove to open your pickle jar. Have it on low fire and hold it against the fire for a few seconds. It will open.

I always used the pointy end of a bottle opener. Slip it under the edge of the jar and press down. It breaks the seal and it will open easily.

No, no, no. Take the jar and, at a 45 degree angle, firmly but not overly aggressively strike the edge of the lid against the edge of you kitchen counter. It will open straight away.

I open tough jars by shutting them in the door hinge.

Some hardcore rubber gloves usually work, the type with a good handgrip. Are they available here?

This jar opening post is possibly the most fascinating thing I've read in a long time.

I'd go with a combination of everything. Run it under hot water, while slapping the bottom at the same time. Dry it off, and use something rubber to open it.

What I do is take the blunt side of a butter knife and bang it along the edge of the jar, creating dents which allow air under the lid, popping the seal. Once that's popped, resume twisting of lid.

all you have to do is break the airtight seal and it'll come off easily. I usually use the handle of a metal spoon or fork. As long as it's thin enough to get in the crack between the lid and glass. once in the crack, move the fork/spoon end towards the bottom of the can. It should make the crack larger and break the air seal. very easy and effortless.

You know, you'd think it's be cheaper to can tuna in water compared to canning it in oil....
