If the pay is right.
I would no longer do it for what Hogwons offer as OT. |

Yep, it pays for my holidays. Funny how many think 20,000 won P/H OT is not worth it. Back home $27.00 an hour would have been very nice. |
But we arent back home. Here, $27 an hour is almost an insult. Why work for $27 when you can work for $50? |

It depends on the kids, the number of students, the length of the class, the time, the location and probably a few other factors.
If it's at 1:00 pm on Saturday afternoons, and it's the only overtime offered.........I'd have to say it's not worth it.
Bugger up your whole weekend for a measley 20,000? No thanks. |
Weekend? Weekend!
Who said anything about the weekend? As I said before, Mon-Fri., I work until 4:30pm. That overtime falls before 4:30pm. That's why I don't mind it. |

I was asked yesterday by my supervisor if I would work 12 extra hours on a weekend (judging something for the school board) for 180,000 Won (15,000 won per hour). I said that's too cheap and I'm busy on the weekend, so no. Then today the vice-principal came and asked me (told me) to do it because they couldn't find any other native speakers. I could tell it wasn't something I could refuse as the mighty VP rarely stoops to the level of coming to the lowly native speaker office, so when he does, it must be important.
Normally I welcome extra work but when I get strongarmed into using up my weekend for even less money than I make normally, well that ticks me off. |

If they pressured you, stand up for youself and tell them no. They can't make you (if that is how you truly feel). |

| I'm doing contract R&D work for one of my old schools on the side. I do a little here and there. Let's just say I have a lot of down time at work to do my side stuff and I like it that way. |

If it is that important they wouldn't mind paying you more.
Just next time say that the pay is too small to make up for the inconvenience and they need to reconsider their offer.
They are demanding, you are not willing to offer, enough said. Basic street economics . |
