yeah tib, Seoulsucker is right. eat a lot of beef, pork and pasta. rigorous exercise an hour or so following eating large amounts of any kind of noodles and meat combinations will build muscle mass not fat. you'll put on weight in a healthy way. substitute potatoes for noodles if you get tired of the noodles. mashed potatoes with a lot of gravy made from animal fat oil not the sesame type oil Koreans usually use in their gravies and sauces will beef you up.

fightin! Smile

Actually I was referring to Seoul's air not being in reasonable condition not bald. It is one of the most polluted cities in the OECD. I would love to run outside but I think that it would be basically counterproductive. Sad

Just ran a 100k on the weekend. In atrocious heat but I am getting back into shape. Did very well but still not there....Seoul to Chuncheon and back.....gorgeous along the North Han, really is -- but I couldn't see much for all the sweat . I think I actually drank over 30 litres and still was dehydrated.

But I am going to stick to more of the treadmill over the summer, given the pollution. Point to remember, worst place to run is within 40 ft of a motorway . All the heavy particulates disperse and then fall to the ground within that radius. Very hazardous for you...

100k is nice..though Im much more of a 10k fan, which is probably the perfect mix of speed and stamina.

My wingspan is about six inches longer than my height, which means I'm extremely fit.

Here's hoping all that kimchi and green tea will slim me down once I arrive in Korea!

I do those too but think the 5k is more the perfect mix of speed and endurance. Though I do think that the hardest thing anyone can do (other than row all out for 2,000 m) is to run an 800m race or just run all out for 2 min. This will grow hair on your chest...........

If anyone likes to read about "fitness", I love the essays of George Sheehan. Lots to read , short and poetic at
