Hi,

I recently received some gift certificates to Lotte department store. Well, for all I know they could be for Lotte Hotel and Lotte Mart too - the gift certificates say "Lotte dollars" on them.

There isn't a Lotte department store near me, so could anyone tell me what its a good place for? Any things that would be interesting to an American woman who's been here a year and a half? Clothes that would fit me? Any imported food? etc.

I want to plan out how I'll be able to use these things before I make a trip.

If you go to the huge Lotte Department store at the jamsil station (if i am not mistaken), you can find almost anything. Food is -1 and goes all the way up to level 10 or so.

Just do yourself a favor and wear headphones while you're in there. It's a good method for keeping the vultures off your back.

You can use them at Lotte Mart too.

My boss gave me a 100,000 won Lotte gift certificate last Seollal, but until a month ago it just sat on my shelf. My wife wanted to use it, but I insisted that, because it was given to me by my boss (for my hard work -- har, har), I wanted to use it.

I looked around that bloody dept. store for an hour and a half, but couldn't find anything to buy. I wanted a pair of Levi's, but they didn't have any that fit me well (and I'm quite thin).

In the end, I bought a 100mL bottle of Armani cologne. If you can't find any nice clothes, you might want to get some designer perfume.

Well, I'll try it out this weekend and have myself an adventure. Thanks for the headphones tip, especially. I get real tired of having people yell at me to come look at something while I'm trying to shop.
