|

I've just learned (thanks to "Good Morning America") that there is such a thing as white tea. Do any of you drink it here? I'd like to try it. Apparently it is the ultimate health tea, and is sweet and mild (green tea is a bit too grassy for me, and I'm not into herbal teas so much...). Any ideas where to get some (besides heading off to China!)? |

I also saw that same program this morning - I love AFN!! (yea right)
I've not seen white tea in Korea, but most of the 7-11's in Thailand (well, Chaing Mai) have it. Although I guess thats a long way to travel for white tea. Many oof the posters from Daves seem to be planning a trip to Thailand in the summer (myself too, if i can get it sorted) so I'm sure someone will bring some back for you. If I go, I'll bring some back for you. |

Oooh- that's sweet of you! Have you tried it? I'll ask my co-worker. He's married to a Thai and goes back there about once a month. Well, since it was mentioned on GMA, I'd say it's going to hit the market soon! |

I tried white tea about a month ago in 'Origins'- in Samseong Plaza, Bundang. They had it for sale in 'health tea' boxes. I liked it a lot!! I think it is also in the supermarket in Samseong Plaza... |

Cool- thanks. Origins, huh? I'm guessing it's like, 40,000 won for a box, then.... My b-day is coming up- maybe I can ask for that as my b-day present... |

I still have some white tea I brought back from the US last time. Heeeheee. Love it.
The best white tea I've had is a blend called Silver Needle. If you ever come across it, try it. |

Yeah I saw the segment on GMA this morning as well. It had some interesting info.
I'm thinking about getting up early to watch the full two hours tomorrow since it's Charlie Gibson's last day before going to World News Tonight. |

If you'd like to try to buy white tea in Korea, I'd recommend the Tea Museum.
I'm pretty sure I saw it there, but I'm not 100% certain.
If you can't find it there, then I'd guess that you can't find it anywhere.
It has three branches that I know of, and they only sell loose-leaf tea.
Apgujeong branch
tel: 02) 515-2350
From Apgujeong station, walk (and keep ... walking) towards the Gallaria department store. It's on the right.
Lotte department store branch
tel: 02) 772-3186
Around Myong-dong station, it's in the basement level of Lotte department store.
Kyungki-do (Kyungki Province) branch
tel: 031) 701-2696
Sorry, never been there. |

Thanks for the info Troll_Bait. It's worth a try. If anyone has a chance to take a look, please let us know. I wouldn't mind trying it. |

I'm pretty sure I saw white tea at one or more of the better loose tea shops in Insadong. |
