I don't know if "thankful" is the word, but Toronto just seems like a great place to be these days.
The Canadian economy is great, and there is a lot of good-paying work here.
We seem to be in the middle of a cultural renaissance, what with the renovated art gallery and museum opening soon, and the new, beautiful opera house already finished.
There is a boost in civic pride and renewed interest in public space issues, most of it instigated by young people, all of it happening online.
When I first came here a few years ago, I thought Toronto was pretty crap. But I spent this afternoon at Queen's Park surrounded by thousands of people from all over the world, hanging out and eating hamburgers, and I thought: "this place is all right." |

| i'm thankful this little cut on the top of my foot has scabbed over, so it's itchy and pick-able. and i'm not even trying to be funny...i really was thankful for that as i read this thread. 'cause i started reading it in a bad mood, and was all set to say there was nothing to be thankful for. but then i realized i was happily picking a scab. |

I'm thankful I'm not Otis and/or Worldwide. That's actually one for every day.
I'm not thankful about much else today. I really had to think hard on that one and realized it was REALLY an ordinary day. I could say I'm thankful for my health, wife, blah, blah, blah......but, that's kind of boring.
BUT, I REALLY am thankful for not being OTIS and/or WORLDWIDE!!!!!! (Took a page out of Itaweonguy's book.) |

Yep...still porn.
But also thankful for TGI Friday's for when I get a hankering for food that doesn't come with kimchi as a side. Still chaps my ass that I have to pay 12 bucks for a decent burger, but when the hunger strikes, I gladly fork it over.
