I'm not surprised. The very first response to an O' Canada thread is a 'you're a tool' response.

I remember back to last year's thanksgiving day threads. The American thread was left pretty much intact whereas the Canadian one was inundated with the usual shit.

I'm not surprised. Didn't your mommies ever tell you that if you don't have anything nice to say, *beep* off?

Happy Canada Day!

Happy 4th of July!

Anyone else catch CNN earlier when they wished their "neighbors to the north a happy birthday"? Apparently, on Canada Day, Canadians "celebrate the British North American Act, which officially created the country 13 years ago."

Ya gotta laugh.

How long will you actually be a Canadian?

I give you five years before you take the test for U.S. citizenship.

Welcome to the team.

The only thing you can laugh at (though you shouldn't) is practically all the other countries that became independent had to do it by spilling their own blood for independence.

You don't have to give up Canadian citizenship "officially". Pamela Anderson can still do her thing in either.

Australia? New Zealand? India? singapore? Hong Kong? No blood spilled.
The Brits thought that America was worth keeping. Hence the Revolutionary War. Other countries waited until Britian didnt care any more or until Britian was too weak to do anything about it.

Most countries in the world have shed blood for their freedom. There are ones that didn't and it would be better if the world could always work like that. But that post was from some idiot American and I am much more proud of our 13 year, peacefully gained independence than the American version.

Don't worry, this is the real anthem:

Quote:
O Canada! Terre de nos aeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!
Car ton bras sait porter l'pe,
Il sait porter la croix!
Ton histoire est une pope,
Des plus brillants exploits.
Et ta valeur, de foi trempe,
Protgera nos foyers et nos droits.
Protgera nos foyers et nos droits.

Oh for fucks sake! Thank God Canada Day's over. I would have hated to have read that on Canada Day.

I do like the car ton of bras though.

Thank you for the information. I was unaware of that cult. Interesting. I suggest you both try and get some help.
