HK visa for US citizens?

Hi! I heard that I dont need a visa for entry into Hong Kong. Just booked a layover there on my way back from Thailand.

Do I need a visa to enter Hong Kong and check it out for a couple of days? Im an American citizen.

I heard its great so Im totally looking forward to it.

In HongKong you get a 90 day visa waiver stamp on arrival.

If you want take the jetfoil to Macau (1 hour ride - US$15 each way) you will get a 30 day visa waiver stamp on arrival there. Re-entry to HK is no problem. New entry = new 90 day stamp, even if you had one yesterday Smile

You CANNOT cross the frontier into mainland China without a Chinese entry visa.

great, you rock! It was easier to post here than finding then calling my embassy, then having to find the chinese embassy number, then calling the chinese embassy and finding out that its busy.
