I think the real question is how many times I'm missing Lee Greenwood sing while swimming in an irrigation pond, eating barbecue (not hamburgers and hot dogs on a grill mind you, but real barbecue) and watching fireworks that my uncle bought in South Carolina.

That's the 4th I'm missing, gawd dammit!

Happy Birthday, USA!

Although it's the 5th here, it's still the 4th there.

I didn't have a BBQ, but I did make some texmex style chili last night, yeeeehawww!!!

Hats off to Amoirica, land o' BBQ's, babes, and beer!

(I know I know, that applies to Canada too...They should have a North America Day, Mmmmmm that would be good eating, Canadian, American, and Mexican food. Yow! That would be one helluva party!)

Cool idea. Canadian beer, American food, Mexican women. Any suggestions for a date for this new continental holiday?

My suggestion for the new flag of Camerixa. Cool

Well, I would propose Aug 5, that's the middle of the summer season, near the actual signing of the Declaration of Independence, and between Cinco de Mayo and the actual Mexican Indepence day, and Canadians will party any ol' time.....

Kick butt job on the flag!
(and the name Camerixa)
(But I wonder if you could fit in the Mexican eagle/snake thingy....)

By the way, Aug 5 is on a Saturday this year, so if anyone is actually interested in starting a new holiday......

What does a New Yorker say to you when he's trying his best to be friendly?

"Have a nice day asshole!"

Happy 4th everyone!! (It's still the 4th in Alaska... for 36 more minutes) God bless the good 'ole US of A (and protect us from the idiots we've elected Shocked )

This is the first time in years I've really gotten to celebrate. Even before I moved to Korea I was usually working 16 hours or so every 4th of July (tourism doesn't come to a halt for something so insiginificant as a holiday).

So, here's to a feast of hot dogs, chips and indistinguishable Jell-O based mushy stuff!!

**The only problem with celebrating in Alaska, though, is that it doesn't get dark enough for fireworks (it's 11:26 pm & the sun just set). Oh well, it was fun anyway.
