| A beach for swimming, that is, and how would you get there? |

I'm not sure if this is the closest but we live in Pohang and there are buses leaving every 10 minutes or so from Daegu to Pohang. Trip takes about an hour and 10 minutes. From the bus terminal you could catch a taxi to Bukbu beach which would take you less than 10 minutes. Having said that, if you had a car, I'd recommend some of the beaches north of Pohang (Chilpo and Wolpo). But overall I'd say you're in good striking distance to beaches and the bus fare is reasonable (like 6-7000 won).

| Take the KTX from DongDaegu Station (Tell a cab DongDaegu Yak) to Busan. The ride should take about 50 minutes (I think, it's been a while). From there, take the subway to either Hyundai Beach or to other beaches. When you get to Busan Station, there should be a tourist info booth that could tell you how to get from the station to a number of beaches. |
