At a work dinner party...

Not sure if this belongs here or not (more general discussion I think)

Before dinner with all my coworkers, one teacher left the keys in her car and left it running closing the locked doors. Got cleared up I guess, but leaving I asked if her car was ok ("Is your car OK?"). The Japanese teacher (Korean) then said she didn't want to go to karaoke tonight Wink

The Japanese teacher thought he said they should go to a ka-la-o-kay, which is the pronunciation of karaoke in Japanese and, to some extent, Korean.
