Not sure if this belongs here or not (more general discussion I think)
Before dinner with all my coworkers, one teacher left the keys in her car and left it running closing the locked doors. Got cleared up I guess, but leaving I asked if her car was ok ("Is your car OK?"). The Japanese teacher (Korean) then said she didn't want to go to karaoke tonight  |

The Japanese teacher thought he said they should go to a ka-la-o-kay, which is the pronunciation of karaoke in Japanese and, to some extent, Korean. |
