Man I've never seen Ya-Ta Boy cuss at someone. Unbelievable.
That looked like a Mississippi, or... sorry... Miiissippi accent, if you typed it correctly. They were looking for a McDonald's. Okay, well, I hate McDonald's and consider it the primary foundation of a turd molecule, but if they want it, hey...
Look at it like this: they are in South Korea, right? Not a lot of local yokels from deep south are gonna venture out to Asia at all, let alone KOREA. Most don't even know what Korea is. Maybe they'd been here for awhile and were ready for some "normal" food that could appeal to their tastebuds. I'm sure they didn't eat only McDirty the whole time, else they would've known the location.
'Twas a good story, though. I love teasing people for their stupid accents. Why can't we all have a perfect, North American newscaster accent like mine?

Alot of the menus in Korean restaurants don't have any English. Not everyone likes Korean food when they first arrive, and some never develop a taste for it. Maybe they were just really jonesing for some comfort food after having eaten nothing but Korean food for days on end.
I love McDonald's, so back off!!!!!!!!!!!  |

Yeah, Mickey D's rocks!
Hell, when I first got here I couldn't read Korean, Korean restaurants didn't look like restaurants, no English anywhere, I just ate those little vienna sausages from the little store the first few days cuz that's all I could find that looked edible. I would have loved to have seen a Mc D's.
I tell ya, I sure was happy when I met an American who took me out to show me the ropes finally. Man, that first Korean meal was good eatin'!
Don't help lost people unless you're willing to help them find some really good Korean food. It just teases them...... |

| I might point out that I lived in a community in the US without Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, or Starbucks for quite some time. It was quite exotic to come to Korea and have access to those things! |

No, ya still done a good thing. 
They are on vacation (I hope!) and vacation doesn't have to mean try new things or do new things, it means having fun and relaxing. They wanted McDonald's and they should do whatever they want. I don't like to judge, though in my opinion they are probably wasting a massive opportunity for growing as people. But I am happy knowing that they were happy (if the found the BK that is).

I don't know why they wanted to go to McDonald's but I can guess. I would say they went not only for the familiarity but also to see how different it was in Korea. I am guessing they wanted to see how different it was and I can imagine what their conversation would be like with one of their friends after returning home. "And can you believe McDonald's served this..." I have heard similar stories from friends who were amazed that McDonalds served beer in Germany. Then again maybe they just wanted to have McDonalds.
OP: You did the right thing. Stopping to help people who are lost is something you will get repayed with later down the road. It is something you do without thinking of getting anything in return. A nice selfless act.
And being from the south sometimes the accent can be annoying but its not that bad. I have an accent but it resembles more of a North Carolina accent. However my former roomate from New Jersey said I was a 10 on a scale from 1 to 10. It just takes getting used to. |

I once went to the corner store and bought two candy bars. One was a Caramilk, because I like caramel, and one was an Almond Joy, because I like almonds.
I like ponies, too.
