I rarely get into trouble drinking alone at home, minus hangovers or showing up to work feeling like crap and perhaps doing a poor job.

It's around others that some more embarrassing or expensive or even dangerous trouble sometimes arises. It's not like I get violent with myself, or have unsafe sex with myself, or beat up my own property or any of that nonsense.

Sometimes embarrassment arises when you are drunk around people it would be better not to be drunk around.

Yes, precisely, jajdude. The risk of trouble is when you leave your home to go hang out on the streets alone and drunk.

I can relate as I used to be an out of control drinker when I was a bit younger. The best thing that happened to me was getting older. My body just can't handle hangovers anymore. I'm still a regular drinker but I'm a very moderate one now. Now I generally do stop after 2 or 3 drinks. OP, I agree with some of the other posters that you should probably leave the heavy drinking for home. The main reason is your personal safety. It's pretty dangerous to get blind drunk out in the streets. I had a few friends back in Canada that got seriously roughed up because they offended people when they lost control. And that was in their own country.

Makes sense. Then again, some of the fun times come from that too. Not obscenely drunk of course, but functional enough to be social. Fortunately I am usually a happy and more sociable guy when drunk. I even start speaking Korean to the amazement of others. I simply feel too self-conscious sober to have much of a chat in a language/culture that isn't at ease with me.

I gotta agree. Age does wonders for controlling the drinking, unless of course you are an alcoholic. Then you need more help than just aging.

However, I think the real point here is that we're on page 3 of Otis' trolling. I know that I was one of the first to respond, but it'd be nice to see one of his stupid threads that he starts go unanswered. Probably not a reality.

Making fun of a retarded person is so not nice! Maybe one day, you'll end up having a kid of your own who's retarded. Everything always finds its way back to your doorstep. Be careful!!!

I already went ahead and apologized to the tard. Everything in Tard Land is nice and smoothed over for old Kev.

Otis,

I used to be the same as you. I don't want to write about all the stupid things I did. Instead, I want to offer a suggestion because it has worked for me. People like you and me probably will never stop drinking. The two week plan of yours will probably last two nights. I'm not trying to be negative, I hope you reach your goal. If you don't however, try what I now do. I drink alone. I know this will get flamed by everyone out there, but it works. I buy my booze, rent DVDs, sit on the sofa and get wasted. I don't bother anyone, it's cheap, I don't get into fights anymore. I get drunk at my own pace. Nothing upsets me. I fall asleep and haven't hurt anyone. You may think it's boring at first, but you get used to it.

I appreciate the advice, but getting gassed all by my lonesome really doesn't turn me on. I guess I'm a social creature. Thanks all the same.

You know what, kids? I don't know a better country in which to hang out while drunk. Of course, I'm a girl and not a violent drunk, but rather a silly/confused/strangely fluent in Korean drunk, but still...

Can everyone please stop dodging the swear-filter and writing the word "tard"? Thanks.

Yes, ma'am.

And the person I'm speaking about really isn't retarded. He's more like a special ed kind of guy.

And he's really not a bad guy. His parents are multi-millionaires. They own a bunch of oil-field companies and a casino/barroom.

No table games. Lots and lots of video poker.

So their kid kind of throws his weight around. Like I said, he's not retarded. He's just a little slow and used to the good life.

Yes.
