Howdy,

As I continue to explore towns and employment possiblities I am finding myself drawn to Wonju. I have learned that there is a hanji museum and a hanji festival there and this impresses me. I am just wondering what else there is in Wonju that an ex-pat would enjoy.

I am not into the bar scene. I am interested in joining a gym. Is there one there where you can work out, swim and get a massage?

I do expect to hear from cubanlord. This is an opportunity for you to add to your recent plethora of posts. Wink

Best,

K-in-C

I've never been there but since I'm writing info on just about anything I did a search on Naver to see what there is:
http://wiki.galbijim.com/Wonju#Health_clubs

You can click on that link that'll show a map with all the health clubs and their locations, and when you click on their individual name it'll show a more detailed map with its exact location.
There's also a blog there by a guy who seems to have been in the city for quite a while so that might have something.

You got suckered into living in Wonju? Hahahahahahahaha
What did they do? Put a burlap bag over your head and
throw you into the back of a Damas? Oh well, what is done
is done. Here are my suggestions:

-buy a good mtn bike (http://www.rei.com) They will ship it here.
There must be some pretty rad XC and freeride action out
there. (don't buy a bike here - a $2000 bike will cost
5,000,000 won in Korea)

-get a good computer and the best internet connection.

-find a member of the opposite sex

-drink heavily

-grow your own ganga

I hope this helped.

I went to a wedding there and yeah it's not at all that impressive. Seemed pretty dank.

True, there isn't much to do...AT ALL. Crying or Very sad But I like the change of pace. I came from a busy city. I enjoy the peace. Hey, if I want to go to Seoul, I'll pay $6 and go for the day (just a 1.5 hour bus ride).

Eh...to each his own I guess.

With the right imagination, the wall is infinitely fascinating.
