Just wondering. Personally I can't wait.

I'll get excited when it gets a bit closer. It's still too far from me. With my luck, it'll end up being merely some high winds and rain. Wait....that's all a typhoon is. Sad Oklahoma weather has ruined all other weather for me.

I'm from Michigan, the worst we get are lame ass tornados (the gayest of all disasters, they dont even name them they're so gay) and the occasional blizzard.

I'm really geeked about a typhoon. Rain, thunder, something out of the bible... an earthquake would be *beep*.

Your avatar scares me too much to focus on anything you write. *goes to nearest corner and weeps*

That reminds me of this guy who said he wanted to experience an earthquake. He wanted to experience his earthquake out on the flatland, longrass prairie where no falling objects would ruin his trip. Something like a horizon to horizon trampoline.

only if you like death and destruction and near death experiences

typhoon maemi in 2003 killed a mother and her child down the street from my place on Geoje island when the wall collapsed on them as they crouched hugging together on a bed, a car was thrown on a building, and a ferry terminal a couple of kilometres away was demolished

it was the ugliest night of my life

typhoons are no fun if you really are in the middle of one, like wars

I was in Masan during typhoon maemi in 2003. There was a lot of destruction. My friends factory had 1 meter of water running through it. On the following Monday morning the guy who usually drove me to work wasn't there and he didn't show up till friday. We were sitting in a small traffic jam when I heard on the radio" blah blah typhoon maemi..." so I tried to start a conversation (I don't speak Korean, he spoke very little english). I said "is your house ok after the typhoon..?" He shook his head no. I said " what.. broken windows..?" He put his hands up to his head (the motion for sleeping) and said "wife". I was more than a bit slow on the uptake so I said loudly "... your wife is sleeping..?" He replied "No... water..." held his hands above his head then drew his thumb across his throat and pointed up. His wife was one of the ones who got trapped in a basement area and drowned. I'll never forget that.

I lived in Hawaii when Hurricane Iniki hit. We had to be evacuated and spent the day wondering how friends, family members, pets, homes, etc., were. It's not something I ever want to experience again.

I've lived through some bad hurricanes in the past, so no, I'm not particularly excited about a typhoon.

LOL...I know how you feel.

I'm excited by the dramatic weather, but I don't want extensive damages or injuries, and I hope to God, no deaths. Other than that, PARTY!

first year in Korea in Suwon(fair ways inland)

Typhoon hit....everyone else hid indooors I was out walking around in the deluge....rain going sideways.....walked around the corner of a building and my umbrella was ripped out of my hands and went sailing away up into the night skies at about mach2 Laughing

I was drenched.....decided to stop in at the local corner store for some soju, when I opened the door the lady jumped about a foot and screeched..... Laughing ....I guess she wasnt expecting anyone to be out and around in this weather!

It was cool being out in the storm.

I live in the south west of the ROK and as I am sipping on a beer or two getting primed for the world cup final I suddenly noticed the change in weather.

Winds are starting to gust big time, accampanied by some serious rain. It seems the typhoons path is heading right for my area. The brunt of it is supposed to hit these parts at about 9 am monday, thats only a mere 8 hours away.

Typhoons are wet and windy. Nothing much to get excited about. Don't think they're usually accompanied by thunder and lightning. Had lots of them in Taiwan. One time I rode my bike in one to a private lesson. They thought I was crazy, but I needed the money. Going back was bad. I was on a flat road. My brakes were pretty much worn all the way down. I had them on as tight as I could and the wind was still pushing me. Stopped into McDonalds to get a burger and they also looked at me as if I was crazy. They were shutting down early. In Taiwan, they have typhoon days and you can just not show up to work without someone informing you that work is cancelled.
