Somehow since I've been in Korea for a while, all my friends tend to ask me visa/immigration/job questions... This time I'm at a loss so I'm hoping someone can help me out here....

I have a friend who works at your standard hagwon... At the end of the first year, he decided to renew and the hagwon said he could take a month off as long as he found someone to work for him.... Well, he did so, this person subbed, he paid them, and all seemed well....

Down the road it has turned out that the sub wasn't quite as normal and sane as my friend first thought... I'm not going to bore you with all the drama, but at this point my friend actually fears the person might admit to this (subbing on a tourist visa) and attempt to get everyone involved in trouble... And yes, I know the sub could get deported, but my friend fears this person is crazy enough to do this... The question is, if this person is actually crazy enough to admit that they worked illegally as a sub without a visa, who gets in trouble and what kind.... The school paid their regular teacher and the teacher paid the sub in cash...

If immigration CATCHES the sub in the "act of teaching", then the sub will be arrested (with the related subsequent actions) and the school will be fined.

If the sub is just making noise after the fact then no worry mate.
