Fiveeagles:
I'm going to be pretentious and arrogant. I want you to hear me.
I was brought up Catholic. I have two aunts who are nuns. My grandfather was in his final year of seminary when he met my grandmother. I attended Catholic school and was educated by nuns. I've read the books you have.
I'm a genius. Everything gets old. Eternity, no matter how you dress it up, sounds like a horrible idea. I don't want any part of it.
It isn't logically possible.
I have spent eight years in daily contemplation over matters such as freewill, thenature of God, and the universe. You claim to have "thought alot", and I hope no offense is taken, but I assure you that you have done nothing in a similar effort.
The idea of having a freewill is simply physically impossible. I'm sorry but it is. I'm glad that it is. We are all part of something. The god of your bible is dead, it was never alive. |

According to the Vedas, Sanskrit (not Hebrew, Greek, Latin or English...) is the language that is spoken on the higher (heavenly) planets.
God (a title indicating the supreme controller...) is known and referred to by many names, but the Sanskrit word Krishna, meaning "all-attractive" is the nomenclature most inclusive of all aspects of the Supreme Person. Krishna (also translated in English as Christ from the Greek Christa...) is infinitely full of beauty, knowledge, power, wealth, fame and renunciation.
Sat-cit-ananda-vigraha denotes that Krishna is the eternal form of full bliss and knowledge. He is fully independent and lives in his own abode. The innumerable material universes are periodically created, maintained and annihilated by but a tiny fragment of his energies.
As infinitessimal, separated parts-and-parcels of the supreme, living entities possess most of the qualities of God to a minute degree, including independence. Actions and reactions are controlled and carried out by material nature (under the supervision of God) but we are free to desire.
The more that living beings desire to lord it over material nature, the more they become entangled in her complexities...The more that we can dovetail our desires with those of the infinitely powerful supreme person the more we will experience the beauty and oppulence of heaven (and beyond...) |

I believe there is a world-to-come which the righeoutous will experience. However, we cannot imagine the joys/pleasures that will be there. Has nothing to do with Jesus of Nazareth... |

And although most Christians think of Mormons as an unChristian cult, any Mormon I met through my friend always struck me as the MOST Christian people I ever met. They were happy, kind, honest, and giving. Never preachy. It just seemed to me they felt the best way to recruit was by living a good life. |
Absolutely. The Mormons I have known/lived with actually lived their beliefs. |

Did you read my post earlier up this page arguing against the idea that only one religion is "correct". |
I skimmed it and don't agree.

So .... you believe in hell???? |
You don't?
|
Nah...not participating in the world-to-come will be bad enough. |
