Is that the Geochang in Cholla south of Kunsan. I lived around there for two, three years. Got around on the motorbike and the coast is nice, on the Yellow Sea. There is also a parking lot for dolmens on a mountain that wins it a Unesco World Heritage Site classification. It really is awesome. There's also a fort around there reconstructed like Suwon's. And a legend how if a woman carries a stone on her head and walks the circumference of the battlements she'll have a strong child. You'll find it peaceful and country I think. Close to the big city of Kwangju for weekends. |

Hi,
Ive been in G'chang for 9 months now and its a very nice place to live if you dont mind things pretty quiet. Not many of us foreigners here. Nice scenery and nice people, now has a 2 screen cinema. Can get around on foot.
Are you teaching at a hogwan or school?
Your probably here now, and thats the best way to find out about the place, but here are a couple of websites. If you Korean is good then check out the Korean version of geochang.go.kr, as the english version isnt kept up-to-date. Also you may be interested in the International Theatre Festival at the end of the month - looks pretty good.

If you pm, we could arrange to meet up! |

Looking forward to meeting you in Geochang. I arrive on Sunday.
I will be teaching in a hagwan. I will be doing a visa run
before I get to Geochang - and hopefully starting work on the 19th-20th.
What part of town are you in? Are you teaching in a hagwan or school? How's it going? I will message you again with my contact details when I get there or if youi like, email me AliNZ at hotmail.
Let's meet for a coffee or a drink?
Thanks |

I'm in Geochang usually at least once a month, as it's the GF's hometown. I have a lot of good memories of that town. I'll PM when I know I'll be going back. I'll show you a kickass galbijjim restaurant in the outskirts of town. |

For the record, Aliinz is talking about Gyeongnam Geochang.
also Hi Matin
I love small towns, it feels like you know EVERYBODY
If you an Alinz get together for a drink over the weekend [any weekend] make sure it is at Ggaturi and make sure you let me know, I'd love to join you.
Alinz - your boss has given you my email address, no? I talked to her on the phone a bit lately nad she said she would pass on my e-mail to you. Anyway, you will be seeing the real Geochang pretty soon. I hope the rain will have stopped by then!
What part of NZ are you from? I'm from Wgtn. |
