does anyone know if you can send soju to the states through the mail here?

I don't see why not. There might be a limit on how much per shipment.
I often see old ladies mailing huge cans of kimchi to the states and Europe.
I once mailed a Korean mask home. I told the postal worker it was a 'tal' and he labelled it a 'towel.'

I knew an old Korean guy exporting to Vietnam and he always sent a case or two with his shipments. Very Happy

I have sent so ju, bek se ju and plum wine to my sister in Canada no problem. The only hassle is that it cost more to mail it than it did for the booze!!

Legally, I don't think you're supposed to be mailing booze. At least not in the US. Maybe something to do with flammable products on airplanes.

You might consider soju in the paper cartons. It would be easier to ship if you don't have to worry about glass breaking.

last xmas, i sent my sister in canada a couple of those small plastic bottles of soju, in a box of other things, (gifts, korean snacks...a "korean care package" i called it) no prob...she got it. dunno about sending it off alone, tho.

technically i don't think you're supposed to.
but i live in the US and i sent a bottle to a friend who also lives in the US.
i just said "i've got this korean drink and will this be ok?"

and it was all gravy.
