hey, all -

C & I are about to be off for a 3 week vacation - Bali/Gilis/Lombok, and finishing up with 5 days in Singapore.

I know there is a Korean Embassy there. Does anyone know if they can/WILL do Visa processing, such as for E-2 visas, there???

(the reason for the WILL is that Thailand/BKK OFFICIALLY will, but UNOFFICIALLY will not process for Americans)(somewhere else here, I had a long thread detailing that particular experience).

Would like to know, for the benefit of myself & others. Might make for a nicer visa run, for those with the time/money/option.

Regards,

Glen

Yes, I was in Singapore back in March of this year. They will process your visa. It will take 1 day for processing. They tell you it takes 2 days, but mine was done within 1 day.

I was there for 1 week. Its a nice country.. also very clean. FYI - singapore is one of the most expensive countries in asia. You can do a day trip to Malaysia or Indonesia, depending what your want to do. I would reccomend Sentosa Island. I did a full day touring around. You can take the cable car over to the island. The view is spectacular. Also try visiting the singapore zoo. Its pretty cool.

Here is the website for the embassy in Singapore:

Hope that helps..

Anymore questions, just fire away!!

Same for me but it took two days. They were adamant that they weren't doing it in one day. Confused ( Ok, an extra day off ..... Very Happy )

It's a piece of cake to get there. Just head to the MRT (the Singaporean subway) and get off at Newton. The embassy is in Goldbell Towers, which is next to the MRT exit. The process will cost you $90 Sing Dollars and is very quick. I collected my E-2 from there 2 months ago and it was done in one day.
If you are going visiting, Geylang is a pretty cool area. My uncle owns a noodle bar in Geylang Market and he makes some pretty good Mee Swah!

I'm American and just got my visa in bangkok at the end of June. There were a few other Americans getting their E-2s there as well.

About Singapore - that is fantastic news. I'm not actually worried about the costs - we will be there anyway, on vacation. And with 5 days, and the new 'number, not paper' policy, it should be cake, if I need to do it.

Wangja, Ksonnen's comment may have been re: my op about BKK not liking round-eyes, and Stateside-types in particular.

Great news, all around!!!

Regards,

G.

ps - yep, any gems or tidbits - restaurants, clubs, (the name/location of your uncle's shop!!!) etc. are most appreciated, either here or in a PM. A Sing Visa Run thread seems like a good possibility!!!
