What a joke. Here's the infamous headbutt. He looks like he's bowing to the guy-no power at all.

Yet here's the horrific result. He looks like he was poleaxed by Godzilla

Now compare that to a REAL headbutt from a REAL football game. Look at the angle of the buttee's head. He probably just jumped up like a real man and shook it off.

This is why SOCCER SUCKS. It's a game for women and the 2006 WC proved that in spades. The only beautiful thing about it is this:

That lovely specimen of womanhood is Shin Mina, not seen much off the internet since the 2002 WC.
Good headbutt, though. Zidane's was sincere and well delivered.

I agree with Poker player. I think the entire game shows why soccer isn't the sport of kings and many preach it to be. This thread is good for people like me. I am not going to go into your thread and start moaning about soccer. I don't go into someone's house and moan about the furniture or food. But I can in my own house, sort of like this thread is.

Yeah you're right that's why I started it. But I can't seem to help myself going into other threads and taking pot shots at soccer. OHMYGOD!!! II've become to soccer what Jinju is to hockey. Now I hate myself.

I agree totally with Poker Player on this subject.

It's like soccer is a sport for all the kids that failed to make it onto the diving team. If you can't dive into the water, might as well take a dive whenever some one brushes up against you. You also get to lay on the ground for 20 minutes holding your shin, finally get up, walk off the field, then experience a miraculous recovery 20 seconds later to get back into the game.

It's ironic that FIFA sports the "Fair Play" slogan, yet acts of poor sportsmanship, such as a dive like that, go unchecked.

They need to institute a rule that if they don't get up in 60 seconds they have to sit out for 10 minutes. If they get carried off in a stretcher they have to sit out 10 minutes regardless. I wonder how often the stretcher would be brought out then?

The Italian guy who got his wittle-bitty toesies stepped on then laid on the turf for 6 minutes writhing in agony while the trainer squirted water on his foot was the highlight of the World Cup for me.

I couldn't stop laughing.

Again, it boils down to "In this game, I can't win through skill, hard work, teamwork, talent, or luck. So, I'll dive to garner sympathy from the refs in hopes that I'll be able to take a free shot at a goal the size of Nebraska. I'll then be crowned a national hero for my theatrics, rather than my ability."

Zidane is a great player, but he's what, 70 kilos? That headbutt wouldn't have cracked an egg, and the Italian guy goes down like someone took a 2X4 to his cash and prizes.

I've started watching soccer games with the theme song to Benny Hill on my mp3 player. It suits it rather well.

Mina? She's been all over the place for a while. Modeling, record contract, music videos, etc. She released her second album last summer. B-list for sure, but still pretty visible.

That is NOT a good headbutt. He barely taps him. It's all theatrics on the Italian's part, as per soccer norms.

And for the record, a headbutt is delivered to the head.

I sort of compare soccer to Christianity. Both are really boring and the arguments for them are pretty flimsy. And both subvert children at a very young age and all through their childhoods. Only a few manage to break away from the brainwashing to actually see what these things really are.

Just my opinion.

After watching the replay several times. I think Zidane was uncertain what he wanted to do. Punch him in the gut or ram him with his head, and kind of did both.
