Jesus H. Chrishna! You remember their names? Actually, I did remember that there were two of them. I was just too lazy to point it out while I was writing. And actually, they weren't exactly gangsters, but rather war-criminals, hence General Zod. |

That's true. As long as we can agree that Superman II was cool, and that Superman III sucked, the world shall remain in balance (and stuff). |

Guys, please move the Superman discussion elsewhere--I am straining my wrist trying to mouse around the discussion while still checking for bad movie stuff. |

Good topic. Who doesn't have an opinion?
A few of the top of my head:
Spaceship (or Starship?) Troopers (first one I thought of, bloody terrible, they go and fight huge bugs)
Mars Attacks (or whatever that was called, what a waste of Jack Nicholson)
Eyes Wide Shut (painful, except maybe for the naked girls, and long and with Tom Cruise... ugh)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind (what the hell was that? art or something?)
That's all I can think of right now, though there are more.
I think we did a worst TV show thread before. That was interesting too.
Dukes of Hazard
Walker, Texas Ranger
etc... |

Fair call on Mars Attacks and especially so on Eyes Wide Shut (sad way to go for Kubrick, but Tom frickin' Cruise??), but I have to object to your other choices.
Starship Troopers was one of the best sci fi movies I've seen in a long time. A sweet valley high story in the facist future, at war with giant bugs! Who wouldn't love that?? It's B movie gold! Plus we got Denice Williams.
As for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, a brilliant love story, ingenious plot and happy ending flick. Nothing to be upset with there, surely? |

No, No, No! Mars Attacks is B movie gold; Starship Troopers is a cliche ridden piece of crap not at all enlivened by Denise Richards' silicon war-fighting projectiles. |

| Moulin Rouge, by far, has got to be the most annoying movie I've ever watched. God, how I loathe that movie. |

Popular entries here, Showgirls and Moulin Rouge.
I have seen both movies more than once, and I have also purchased them and they remain in my collection today.
Showgirls I acquired when I bought several large crates of movies on VHS from a video store that was selling off its entire stock. Among them was Showgirls, though it wasn't one of the ones I hand-picked. I watched the movie when I was home sick for days with the flu. I wasn't in the best spirits, sleepy, sleepier still from all the medicine, and I thought Showgirls might cheer me up. It did. Just what the doctor ordered. I'm not sure I'd like it under any other circumstances, though. But hey, they say it did well in Italy!
Moulin Rouge! The movie of which everyone says, "you either hate it or you love it". Not so, I merely like it a lot. Everyone in it, everything about it. I also like reading the scathing negative (DVD) reviews on Amazon & elsewhere, people howling that they'd've given it zero stars were it possible. People are always more expressive and amusing when they're trashing something than when they're defending or praising something. As with Showgirls, I didn't buy my DVD of Moulin Rouge!. It came bound with my monthly subscription to "Hi-Vi" magazine.
What are the worst movies I've watched? Difficult to narrow it down, impossible to recall every bad film & make a confident choice as to which was the very worst. Of the 20 most recent I've seen, it would probably be Tarzan's New York Adventure (1942), though 882 viewers did give it 7.2 stars out of 10 on IMBd.com. |

Pearl Harbour was the worst "blockbuster" movie I ever watched.
Big Top Pee Wee would be the outright worst movie.
Worst Korean movie by far for me....Sex is Zero. Maybe the comedy was unique to Koreans. |

Fair enough. It was just my first reaction and opinion.
Afterwards I thought of a few others. I believe Robin Williams was in a few clunkers:
Bird Cage (he's gay in that one. not a great movie)
Seize the Day (I think that was the title. Conflict with his father or something. Pretty dull)
Anyway, I guess we need the bad movies to show us which ones are not bad? |
