Where do you believe you can find the best pie in Seoul. Restaurant, best pizza and why. Bring it on.

My vote Sortino's in Itaewon, I'm partial to the Rustica alla Campania-
Bufallo mozzarella, Proscutto, Rucola and tomatoes-Best crust, sauce and toppings I've had out here. Discuss.

Oh, no. Not another pizza thread. Rolling Eyes This topic has already been done to death here on Dave's several times.

Here's the most recent one - all 7 pages of it.

That was in April. It's time for a summer pizza thread.

I'm not in Seoul so I don't give a &()$# for the best pizza there. I say the best pizza in Korea at a place regular people can go is Mr. Pizza. They'll let you choose your toppings.

Hurray for Mr. Pizza!!

I used to go to this place called YES pizza in Taejon. It was located in walking distance to the best cathouses in the city. The pizza was great. The cathouses weren't bad either.

I've read about 3 pages of that other post and that's not exactly what I was looking for. While pontificating on corn/pickles and the worst pizzas in Korea is interesting, I'm asking people for the BEST. Anyone?

I can't recall whether I really saw this or dreamt it: grapes on pizza.

Anyone?

Where has Sung Shin Jae pizza gone to? There was one in Myeong Dong but they knocked down that building. There was another near Hongdae but there seems to be a Krispy Cream there now. I think there was one at the Space 9 food court but that's gone. Frankly that was a great pie. Better then I've had outside of my hometown of Windsor (places I've lived/visited: toronto, montreal, seattle, chicago, new york, vancouver... I accept maybe there's better pie in Italy.)

Oh wait, I googled and found...

Well......3 years ago I went to a pizza restaurant near Hyewha station in North Seoul.

When I walked in I saw three hairy-armed italians wearing wife-beater vests and manning a wood stove oven. I thought.....mmmmm....Italians. Might be good pizza here..(actually, as every American knows, I should have thought....mmmm...Italian-Americans..must be good pizza here!).]

Anyway....the pizza was great....the base was just right...not oily or doughy...just light and cheerful.....there was about a half pound of good cheese on eash pizza. The toppings were all imported and first rate.

The name....I think it was called Timentoes.. or a varient on that

Anyway. best pizza in Korea.

Ya that's what I meant, thnx - sorry haven't ridden the subway in a long time, coming back to Korea in November. All I need is the station...I can find it if it's there.

Seconding Di Matteo (although everyone has their own spelling of it). Only went there once, but a nice restaurant and a wonderful pizza.

Speaking of pizzas, they're not pies, but the new Jenny's (there are two in Hongdae now) has their own eclectic, eccentric, not quite all there but still good as hell take on pizza. Square slices made from their wonderful bread with the standard fresh ingredients and intriguing toppings. Sounds like something more European, but then, if that's not what you're looking for, just go to Papa J's or Sbarro depending on whether you like it thick or thin.
