Wow! Thats a surprise choice. And Interesting. I only ever met 2 Austrains, (hot, hot women). The better looking one was very straightforward and friendly in a cute, innocent way. As she was suggesting we meet up again, her less gorgeous friend (completely materialistic money/status head) dragged her away. But still..and (I have heard this from others)..seem a basically charming and sophisticated/cultured..in a sexy way. Looking back i suppose I sensed a tiny, tiny touch of snobbishness. But that is usual with people you don't know.

Australia? Particularly, Queensland?

"Self-satisfied rednecks" spring to mind. i remember you posting about that a while ago. They do have some shocking attitudes.I don't like to be too harsh though...they're friendly in their own way.

1. Darfur isn't a country.

2. The people of Darfur have been the victims of a brutal genocide by the Islamic regime in Khartoum, Sudan.

How does this make Darfur xenophobic?

Surprised nobody has mentioned Saudi Arabia, a country where non-Muslims are not allowed to practice their faith and where non-White migrant workers are treated with utter contempt.

OK so there's heavy duty xenophobia "in Dafur", not "Dafur is a xenophobic country".

Flotsam,

How did you manage to type in Arabic? (Assuming you probably don't have an Arabic keyboard)

p.s: tatakalam al arabiya?

El-lughah el-Arabiya bahut mushkil hae. Isiliyie, men Urdu bolta aur litkta hun.

Which is a poorly transliterated way of saying that Arabic is too difficult so I speak and write Urdu. I studied Arabic for two years but have forgotten most of it, and I am in the process of losing my Urdu as well.

As for the نعم, I just went to an online dictionary and copied it from the list of "yes" options. Sorry that I don't have a solution for typing in Arabic...but I have seen the keyboards before:

...and it's one of those fun languages where you can watch the letters merge as you type out the words. I have never seen the programs for Nashtaliq or Naskh(I think most typing is just in Kufic) but those must unfold elegantly on the page.
