Hmmm? First time I applied it took about 30 mins. to get it. (Mokdong). Second time in December of this year about 15. Gave them the paperwork after a small snag about addresses we (spousal unit and I) were done.
Not sure why it would take 10 days. Maybe they have to route everything through the Mokdong office or something.....
Kills me how different each office is....

| Visited the Incheon branch on Dec. 21st. Handed in required documents and copy of apart. contract, as wife is not working, and was told to wait until Jan. 11. Everything went as expected; however, turning in my passport and IRC was a little unexpected. Not sure what would happen if I needed those, but I'm hoping the little receipt they gave me would be of some value. |

the first time might take a while.. they need to register you put you on file and all that jazz..
the time in between will depend on how busy they are..
but becuase you are a new applicant maybe they need to send your stuff to mokdong.. I dont know.. I use suwon myself.. but I have had a f2 for 6 years.. so when ever I go into suwon I just take in the forms wait my turn and then drop them off and return in 1 week to pick up my card..
thank god we dont have to wait in the same line as the chinese workers
its always full of them.,., lucky for us we have our own line so the wait is VERY short hahahaha
chill dude, you'll get it soon enough.. doesnt make a difference if you have it or not.. you are still legal from the time your application is in. |

You had the F2-1 for six years?
It was only available for men about 3 1/2 years ago. Maybe 4 years at the most. Did you really have it before then....because I tried and they said it was only for women. |

Sounds about right.
First time will take a while. But look on the bright side...in 2 years when you renew, you'll be in and out in 10 mins.
I got mine renewed in Dec and it took 10 mins max. |

So dude, how long did it end up taking?
Mine ended up being 3 1/2 months.
Has anybody else tried to get their f-2-1 from Suwon recently.? I'm curious as to low long it is taking others to get it. |

Lion,
I'm sorry to hear it's taken so long. I got my F-2 in Mokdong last Janurary and it took 2 weeks.
It sounds like the Suwon office is a good place to avoid applying for an F-2. |

I just picked mine up on Tuesday, from Incheon immi. It took 12 days drop-off to pick-up. Lovely time.
I agree that Suwon should probably just be avoided. I've also heard that Busan likes to play with the applicants and make them wait a long time.

I will be heading to Suwon Immigration to apply for my F2-1 in the next couple of weeks.
Since my passport was about to expire I decided it would be wise to get it renewed before beginning the F2-1 process (who wants to make an extra trip and wait another 3 weeks on top of that anyway).
I'll post when I make the application and the results later.
Cheers. |
