2.2 People Get HIV per Day
An average 2.2 people per day were infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which causes acquired immunity deficiency syndrome (AIDS), in South Korea during the first half of this year, according to the Korea Center for Disease and Prevention (KCDC).

Koreans in general do not promote condom usage and have frequent flights to Phuket and Pattaya. That and the fairly high level of marriage infidelity could lead to disasterous results. It could get a lot worse fast if things don't change. |

Shocking, but even now they still don't think they need to use condoms. |

It doesn't help, either, that Korean condoms are crap and they refuse to import the ones that work. |

Mine did too the other day. I peeked in some classrooms. The teachers were either not there or dozing. Students: Some sleeping, some reading other books, some listening to mp3 players. Some playing with phones.
Maybe 6 or 7 were actually watching the presentation being broadcasted into the classrooms. It was specifically about HIV.
The presentation didn't look very interesting or age appropriate. It looked like something for 3rd year medical students. Nothing that would hold a students interest.
Last year they had it at city hall and alot of kids just didn't go and skipped out. So they tried it this way. The teachers had no inclination or interest to make or encourage the students to pay attention.
So most are a clueless as they were before.

Since Koreans don't use condoms that much, I would be kind of leary about buying them here...I'm betting they just sit on the shelf for a very long time before anyone gets up the cojones to buy them. People feel really embarassed about buying condoms here.
You gotta love the "Black" condoms they had a Costco, the Konglish on there was priceless. |

"The center said Thursday that 398 people, 370 men and 28 women, were found to have the contracted disease from January through June.
Impossible! There is no such thing as HIV in Korea, except for those dirty foreigners. And, clearly, no homosexuals. |
