If someone says that you're like a mole, what does that mean?
I was told that it means you're cute in Korea. |

I knew a college age student whose english name was Mole. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. For me the first image that pops in my mind when I hear "mole" is a big hairy thing on an old lady's chin. Of course, she did look exactly like a mole, so i guess it was a fitting name! |

It means you are cute, 'cause you have smaller eyes than the natives.... |

Haha we have a mole right here!
No seriously, I didn't know what to say when my students said this to me. I thought maybe they were trying to make fun of me by saying that I looked like one. I know I'm cute but I don't know what a mole has to do with it. |

Sometimes I joked with my students when I entered a classroom and the lights were off; I said "두더지들" (moles) and turned on the lights. Come to think of it, though, it does also mean spy here in Korea. Hmmm... |
