Saw it recently. Kick ass flick, althoug a B movie at best. Still a lot of fun.
tense? How about the finals scene of the usual suspects? |
Did you see the unrated DVD version or the watered-down for Korean TV version?
Watching Andy's head come apart like a watermelon at a Gallagher show is priceless.
My favorite character? Steve. "Was that sarcasm? Wow, awesome." |
I probably saw the watered down version since it was on TV. Good movie but a B flick. Nothing wrong with that. |

Easy.
Silence of the Lambs. When Buffalo Bill turns out the light and dons his night vision so's all you see is Clarice's blindly expanded pupils and all you can hear is her panic-driven gasping - I swear you can almost hear her heart pounding in that scene. B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L.
Some good tension at the end of Midnight Express (SPOILER) too, when the Turkish jailers throw Billy the keys, not realising who he is. Alan Parker made it work but good. |

Isn't the 3-cornered duel from The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, supposed to be the most tense movie scene (it doesn't really do it for me but it's famous for it)?
That crazy music was very fitting though.

I'm still trying to figure out whether you guys are talking about the original or the remake.
You know the 2004 version was a remake, right? |

Took the words right out of my mouth although that Cliffhanger scene was pretty intense. I happened on to the latter movie while on LSD. That Boogie Nights scene was pretty edge-of-your-seat stuff too.
Star Wars: Obi vs. Darth, Luke vs. Darth
Empire Strikes Back: Luke and Darth
Jaws
Star Wars, Jaws and Silence of the Lambs were full of tense stuff. |

Tarantino lampoons it in Four Rooms, but there's a short film set in Vegas where a guy down on his luck makes a bet:
He has to light his Zippo 10 times in a row with his pinky. If he loses, the rich nutjob is going to cut his pinky off. If he wins, he gets a load of money.
Some other moments:
Michael Corleone has a meal with the police chief and someone else. Gets the gun from the loo....
The Russian roullette scenes from the Deer Hunter.
Fonz, if you like DotD, try 28 Days Later. Taut.
The train scene in Stand By Me
The last 20 minutes of Halloween
The First 20 minutes of Private Ryan (Flotsam, say what you will, but that's the best anti-war argument I've ever witnessed)
The last 15 minutes of The Eye of the Needle
The last 8 minutes of the Blair Witch Project
The biplane scene from North by Northwest
AND BEST OF BEST:
Here's Johnny!
The Climax of the Shining |

The first Alien had its tense moments, but Aliens stepped it up a notch.
I loved The Thing also.
Bill Paxton is one of my favorite actors. He has the best lines and reactions in Aliens. I think I would be freaking out just like him. It adds that human element to the movie. You got to have that guy who is saying what everyone is thinking, "We're Fucked". Very intense movie. |

Yeah, I know it's a remake, and a damn good one at that. Adding speed and fury to the zombies breathed life into an otherwise overdone genre.
Jinju, watching it on DVD for the gore factor alone is worth it. The bonus features on all the special effects make-up is awesome. |
