Is it ok? I know it wouldn't happen if it were Japan. What about South Korea? |

The problem is not so much Korean immigration, which after all have the same rules as USA (for example) for arriving tourists, but with the airline check-in.
Just as with USA, a person arriving without a visa must have a return or onward ticket or run the risk of being refused entry. It is usually left to the airline to police this as they can be subject to a heavy fine if the passenger is refused entry for lack of that outbound ticket. Therefore, they invariably refuse to let you board without proof.
"I am a Brazilian tourist hoping to get a job to teach Portuguese in USA. Will they let me in with no return ticket?". I dunno, what do you think? |
