You make the assumption that all guys are in their "right mind" Smile
Plenty of men act like idiots around women.. and some people
are just idiots

Which is why the 10's end up with whoever is dumb enough to tolerate their behaviour.

No, they end up with men who don't have hang ups and preconceptions about beautiful women Wink

What happened to simply showing courtesy and kindness to the person you are supposed to love? You don't have to go overboard, but I thought it was just common sense that both men and women should act like decent human beings towards their partners.

Natalia,

Absolutely...and I think that holds true even if the person of the opposite sex is not your partner.

I think it's true that many women nowadays start out their adult lives by believing that courtesy and "chivalry" from men is something they're automatically entitled to, and don't feel they have to reciprocate to men they work with or date. But I think the majority of women outgrow that attitude in their 30s and 40s, and learn that courtesy towards and respect for the opposite gender is something valuable in and of itself.

Really? I would say it is a whole lot less these days than ever before. I certainly don't expect it. I just don't want a *beep* who moans non-stop about 'bloody feminists and their double-standards'.

I suppose one can argue about how many is "many". Laughing But I would agree there are probably fewer people who think that way these days than in the past.

But I guess my original point was/is that people eventually mature in their attitudes towards the opposite gender. I think it's true that a few women in their 20s tend to overestimate how much they know about men, or assume that men are fairly simple to understand. When it turns out that they don't know as much as they think they do, and/or their relationships blow up in their faces...first, they tend to blame or condemn all men. Later on, as they get older, they may realize that although things may have been partly the guy's fault, also they didn't know as much as they thought they did about life, men, relationships, etc.

Hell, that's just a function of age, not gender. When I was in my 20s, I thought I had the whole world figured out. When I hit 30, I realized I didn't know squat. Shocked

Maybe you've been in Korea too long. Wink

Regardless of the issue, that's certainly true. Laughing
